Condition: EF, Coin is better than picture. The coin has excellent medium dark silver surfaces with a nice sheen. Portrait is a bit lighter, especially in the protected areas around it. Centering is off, but loses very little. Nice strike and very good detail except for a bit of a flat strike on above the ear corresponding with the bottom of the modius on the reverse. Slight scuff on the shoulder which does not detract. Excellent sharp legends. Interesting portrait. All in all, an excellent example of this rare issue.

Valuation: Why Valuation? This is a hard to find Imperatorial period coin. The most current price information is found in Sear Roman Coins and their Values, Millennium Edition, where it is valued at $224 in VF and $600 in EF. In Sear The History and Coinage of the Roman Imperators it is valued at $600 in EF. This is a pleasant, attractive coin for this issue with a charismatic portrait of a praetor. This coin is an excellent example of this rare issue.
